Straddie Pure Triathlon

A stunning 750/25/8.5 tri course with an ocean swim, cycle leg on sealed roads and a spectacular (and tough!) all terrain run course.

The Swim

The 750m ocean swim starts at the Eastern end of Home Beach and finishes at the entry to the Point Lookout Domain. After a short (approx. 200m) beach trail and grass run you will reach transition. The swim leg is the same for Straddie Pure and Straddie Salute competitors.

The Cycle

The Straddie Pure cycle leg is a 25km cycle from Point Lookout to Amity and back along sealed roads. The turn-around point for 2023 is near the start of the Amity township. North Stradbroke Island’s undulating scenic roads make for a fast but challenging ride.

The Run

The Straddie run course features a mix of coastal trails, beach, stairs, boardwalk and bitumen. After a short road section from transition, runners hit Main Beach and head north (left) to the Point Lookout Surf Club where the course links with a stunning scenic trail along the Point Lookout coastline, across Cylinder Beach and back to the Oval. The run course is the same for both the Straddie Pure and Straddie Salute.
